RICHLANDTOWN BOROUGH
COUNCIL MINUTES
July 13, 2009
The regular meeting of Richlandtown Borough Council was held on July 13, 2009. Stanley Weikel opened the meeting at 7:00 P.M. Councilman John Calder was absent.
Council granted the residents of Richland Greene permission to close the street on August 29 to have a block party.
Norm Finlayson approached Council again about adding three apartments to 2 East Union Street. He was told to get subdivision land development approval. The Building inspector will send an official letter to Mr. Finlayson to do the same.
A representative from T Mobile presented the proposed lease to Council. Council decided to make a few changes and the Resolution will be brought up again at the August meeting.
On a motion by Roy Schulenberg seconded by Matt Scheetz and passed by Council, the minutes from the June 8, 2009 meeting were approved as written.
SOLICIOR’S REPORT
HINKLE – The Judge remanded the case back to the Zoning Hearing Board to determine weather or not a non-conforming use existed. They have 90 days to re-issue the decision.
SMITH – An enforcement action was filed in District Court but the court was unable to serve Mrs. Smith and action is on hold until she can be served.
KIRK’S FUEL – Kirk’s will be contacted to see about recompense for the fuel removed from Benner Hall.
PENNVEST – The Solicitor is preparing documents for the PENNVEST loan.
FIRE COMPANY REPORT
The Fire Company inquired about having the burning ordinance amended to include recreational fire pots (chimaeras etc)
The fire company will be extending the no parking zone at E. Union and Main Street.
PUBLIC WORKS
WATER SUPERINTENDENT REPORT – On a motion by Jim Bowman, seconded by John Wassmer and passed by Council the Water Superintendents report was accepted as written.
ARSENIC – G & S has rebuilt the pump and installed new pipes at pump house #3
WATER LEAK - A new valve was installed on Main Street.
TOWN COURT – The Borough Engineer will have bids for the road work to be done in Town Court They will be opened on August 6, 2009
PARKS & RECREATION
Community Day will be September 19, 2009.
PUBLIC WELFARE
FIRE POLICE – On a motion by Jim Bowman, seconded by John Wassmer and passed by Council, The Fire Police were granted permission to help at :
Haycock Triathlon on August 9, 2009
TREE TRIMING – Dave’s Services will be contacted to trim the trees overhanging the streets.

The Zoning Hearing Board requests an alternate member for their board.
PAYMENT OF BILLS
On motion by Roy Schulenberg, seconded by John Wassmer and passed by Council, the June expenditures were paid.
ADJOURNMENT
On motion by Floyd Bless seconded by Matt Scheetz and passed by Council, the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 PM
