2016 ANNUAL DRINKING WATER QUALITY REPORT
Water bills are sent out in the beginning of January, April, July, and October. They are due by the end of the month that they are received. Failure to do so will incur a penalty of 50%. Severely delinquent accounts risk having their service interrupted until the bill is paid in full, plus a $40 reconnect fee. We are more than willing to work with residents to make sure the bills are paid timely and penalty-free.
Richlandtown Water Department Quarterly Water Billing Rates
Effective October 1, 2016. Residences are billed a flat fee of $20 per connection, plus consumption:
0 to 18,000 gallons: $2.50 per thousand gallons
18,001 to 25,000 gallons: $4.50 per thousand gallons
25,001 to 35,000 gallons: $5.50 per thousand gallons
35,001 gallons and over: $8.00 per thousand gallons
Water bills can be mailed in or dropped off in the drop box in the office door. Additionally, payments can be made during regular office hours.
Water Meter Certification
If you are moving out of Richlandtown, please have your Realtor or settlement company request a final meter reading (or “water meter certification”). Please fax or mail the requests to the office no later than one week before settlement.
Upon settlement of a home purchase, there is also a meter deposit of $100. Homes sold within the Borough will have their previous meter deposit refunded at settlement.
New residents should call the Borough Office and have water billing set up in their name.
