Water Meter Certification

If you are moving out of Richlandtown, please have your Realtor or settlement company request a final meter reading (or “water meter certification”). Please fax or mail the requests to the office no later than one week before settlement. The Water Certification will be processed only after the Use & Occupancy Permit has been completed.

Upon settlement of a home purchase, there is also a meter deposit of $100. Homes sold within the Borough will have their previous meter deposit refunded at settlement.

New residents should call the Borough Office and have water billing set up in their name as soon they have obtained a Post Office Box (if applicable).

2024 Water Rates

Quarterly Service Connection Fee - $20.00/quarter

0 to 18,000 gallons - $4.00/1,000 gallons

18,001 to 25,000 gallons - $5.00/1,00 gallons

25,001 to 35,000 gallons - $7.00/1,000 gallons

35,001 gallons and over - $9.50/1,000 gallons

Water bills are sent out at the beginning of January, April, July, and October. They are due by the end of the month that they are received. Failure to do so will incur a penalty of 50%. Severely delinquent accounts risk having their service interrupted until the bill is paid in full, plus a $40 reconnect fee. We are more than willing to work with residents to make sure the bills are paid timely and penalty-free.

Water bills can be mailed in or dropped off in the drop box at the borough office. Additionally, payments can be made during regular office hours.
